September, 2003  On August 17 - just in time for the September 11 ceremony - 303 engraved bricks were installed in the memorial walkway, bringing the total to 491. This task required the removal and reinstallation of roughly 2000 bricks. A local landscape service did the bulk of the removal and reinstallation project.
